Garud is an employed driver at Radha Gopinath Temple since 1999. His working hours are irregular, and that is taking a heavy toll on his health. He can easily get another easy-going job. “But I am addicted to this job,” admits Garud with a smile. “I get so much love from the monks and Radhanath Swami.”

Few years ago he had actually shifted to another job, an easy-going one with double the salary. “But I was feeling suffocated there,” says Garud with a choked expression on his face. “My body was comfortable, but the heart was vacant. Finally after two months I couldn’t take it anymore. I returned back home—to this temple.”
