Jal Krida

As summer sets in India with full severity, heat starts creeping into nooks and corners on all spaces of life. As its intensity increases, bodies melt and temperaments get distorted. In such times, devotees of Krishna feel restless with thoughts of this heat troubling Radha and Krishna also. Thus, to rescue them from this heat, they take them out for Jal Krida, water sports. Small deities of Radha and Krishna are taken amidst water surrounded with fountains; cool wind carrying water droplets blows and makes them wet.
This sight of Radha Krishna enjoying waters and cool wind relieves all the devotees of scorching summer heat. Tasting the wind that comes after touching Radha Krishna gives a pleasure of life time to everyone surrounding them. It’s a testimony how quickly Lord reciprocates with his devotees. Otherwise, where will we find that people are soaking some metal idols with water to free themselves from heat? This is a spiritual incident that goes beyond logical understandings.

In Radha Gopinath temple, we take the deities to Vrindavan Forest in temple premises. It’s a small replica of the original Vrindavan forest in north India. Our forest is very small in size but its feels and intensity can stir souls as much as they are moved in the original Vrindavan. It is nothing else but the mercy of Radhanath Swami who has inspired and personally guided the making of this forest. As we enter it, leaves of Madhu Malati creeper brushes our body. One has to move leaves aside to make an entry into the forest. As you move ahead in the forest eyes are captivated with the view of a beautiful pond with cushy lotuses in the middle of forest. It has a diorama of Krsna – Kaliya pastime reminding us of Yamuna River. As you move ahead and circumvent on the forests circular path you can view the prototypes of some of the ancient Vrindavan temples built by famous sages, popularly known as Goswamis.
Amazing pastime which shows how the devotees take pleasure in pleasing the supreme lordships sri sri radha krishna!
